Hmmmmm
Well as I said in my last post, I have had the most horrendous headaches since my fall.
So the day after that post, after popping in to the surgery and seeing the nurse who said "A&E NOW" and then having my mammogram, I went to the hospital.
I was seen straight away, taped to a trolley with my head in a block, CAT scanned and then the flurry of nurses doing ECGs, blood tests, BP you name it......
It turns out that I have fractured my C4 vertebra. Thankfully it's a stable fracture, and I did no further damage by leaving it for 2 weeks before getting it checked out. I know how lucky I am, not only because the initial injury was stable, but also because during the 2 weeks after the accident I continued to ride, drive and fly... I am so very lucky.
So I am in a rigid neck brace for 8 weeks, then it can probably start coming off gradually. I'm hoping it'll be off completely by Christmas and that I'll be able to ride before New Year. I will also have to have physio. Could have been so much worse.
